Spike, also known as William the Bloody, first appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer in Season 2 with the fraile, ill and insane Drusilla. He earned his nickname becuase of his habbit of torturing people with railroad spikes. For Valentines day Spike chose to show his love by giving Drusilla a gold heart necklace, which she loved. But she liked Angelus's gift better: a real human heart for her to eat. Spike was very jealous at that moment! His undying love for Drusilla caused him to cure her by sacrafising his own health when the ritual backfired and Angel was freed. Eventually he and Drusilla left Sunnydale.

Then later on Spike returned by himself because he and Drusilla were having a fight. He solved his love problems and left Sunnydale again to go back to Drusilla.

Now, in Season 4, Spike has returned for good because Drusilla ran off with a fungus demon. He has a chip implanted in his head by the Innitiative to stop him from being able to hurt anyone but other demons.

Now Spike lives in Sunnydale again in his own private 'apartment' in one of Sunnydale's many graveyards.

Although Spike is not even 200 years old yet, he has fought and killed two Slayers.

Spike Quotes:
"We like to talk big, vampires do. The truth is, I like this world. We've got  dog racing, Manchester United and we've got millions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs."

"I don't fancy the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet."

when Drusilla had dumped spike: "She wouldn't even kill me. She just left. She didn't even care enough to cut off my head."

to Ford after just meeting him: "I've known you for two minutes and I can't stand you. Don't really feature you living forever."

"I don't like to brag. Who am I kidding? I love to brag!"

"You know what I find works real good with Slayers? Killing them."

"Truth is, I like this place. You got dog racing, Manchester United, and you get people. Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals on legs."

Spike: "No more of this 'I've got a soul" crap?"
Angel: "What can I say? I was going through a phase." -Innocence

Drusilla: I brought something for you. Poor thing, she's an orphan. She nearly died! Not without a fight though... Do you like her? Hmm? I bought her specially for you to cheer you up. And I've named her Sunshine! Open wide! Come on love, you need to eat something to keep your strength up! Now, grrrr, open up for mummy!
Spike: I won't let you feed me like a child, Dru!

Spike: "Are we; feeling better then?"
Drusilla: "I'm naming all the stars."
Spike: "Can't see the stars, love. That's the ceiling. Also, its day."
Drusilla: "I can see them. But I've named them all the same name, and there's terrible confusion. I fear there may be a duel." -Innocence

Spike: "A Slayer with family and friends. That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure."
Drusilla: "You kill her. And we'll have a nice party." -School Hard

This is Spike before he was a vampire, I guess that we could call him William at this point of time.
